Sunny Deol: 'Maa Tujhe Salaam' Isn't My Film!

Yes, we did speak all that much on Sunny doing a number of patriotic flicks, but his most recent release that falls into a similar genre Tinnu Verma's 'Maa Tujhe Salaam' is not an all-out Sunny film. The Deol's role is relatively much less compared to those in his other films. In short, it was to be a special appearance, that got bigger to suit the script. On being questioned as to why the film is being sold as a Sunny-starrer, it is heard, that it was a surer way of making money for the producers and all those concerned with the finances of the film. Sunny did the film only because good friend Tinnu Verma wished he be there.

Salman and Sharukh fight over Maduri!
KC Bokadia, finally heaved a sigh of relief. His film has been in the making for many years now. After the arrest of the financer of the film (Bharat Shah), the Rajasthani business man had to literally beg, borrow and steal to complete his film 'Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam', if rumours are to be believed. €œI'm releasing the film in April,€ he told us. The film is a love triangle, with Shah Rukh playing Madhuri's husband. The 'other man' is of course Salman. Do we see another 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' in the making!?

LAGAAN: NOW A COMIC!

We had a new trend set last year with 'The Making of Asoka' and 'The Making of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.' But Aamir's 'Lagaan' comes out with another 'original' - a comic book titled 'Lagaan - The Story,' to add another credit to list of the first of its kinds. The book will be published by Egmont, a company that has also roped in the merchandising rights of the film. It will be made available in two languages, English and Hindi, in India by next week. If there is a Niranjan Iyer behind 'The Making of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham..', there is journalist Alok Mathur behind 'Lagaan - The Story.' The comic, a picturesque print version of the film, consisting of 41 pages was compiled in close association with 'Lagaan' director Ashotosh Gowariker. This merchandise serves as a tremendous promotional gimmick and there's gonna be more 'Lagaan' merchandise on its way. The comic book is just the beginning.
